Here are the highlights of the upcoming update of the Legend of Us RPG Sidekick. This update is coming to you in the next couple of weeks!
- Character portraits
- Create multiple Modules and duplicate Modules
- Module icons
- The ability to upload and download Modules to Dropbox
- A simplified structure for in-app purchases
I am excited to announce that each character can now have a portrait! Character portraits are particularly important as we move into phase two of the Legend of Us RPG project. The core of phase two is introducing you to our RPG Worldbuilder where you can build your own maps. The ability to connect a character created in the RPG Sidekick with the RPG Worldbuilder is dependent on that character having an image. Here are a few screenshots showing how the new character images look. The update comes with a few images that anyone can use for a character and you can import more images from your photo album or Dropbox with the Advanced Editor (explained below). In these screenshots I have used an imported image of my avatar for a bard:
Please note that in the third screenshot above, you need the Character Sheet Quick Access upgrade to see the character sheet tab above the cup, otherwise you will see an ad. If you don’t have Character Sheet Quick Access, you can always access your active character sheet by tapping the cup, but I hope you will consider purchasing this great feature!
We are also adding the ability for you to organize your characters into multiple Modules (the button that looks like a stack of books at the bottom of the screenshot). You might want to keep all your Pathfinder characters separate from your D&D characters, or you might want to build an entire story in the RPG sidekick. Our vision has always been to enable you to design and run a pen and paper style RPG game completely from your mobile device. To do that you need to stay organized and be able to store monsters, NPCs, items, and other story information. Because images make things easier to find, we have enabled you to attach an image to each module (shown above). This image will appear in the background of every character sheet in that module as a watermark (also shown above) and it will appear on the button for the module in the in-app library shown here:
Both basic and advanced editors have access to the in-app library and the ability to create as many Modules as you wish.
Another feature we are adding is the ability to lock button order. This was a long requested feature and can really improve navigation of your lists. When you lock your button order, the list will still scroll but the buttons will not switch places. To access this feature, tap the keyhole symbol at the top of the screen and chose “Button Order” from the menu that drops down.
Finally, we are simplifying our in-app purchases and combining all of our current offerings into one item called the “Advanced Editor”. The Advanced Editor will be $3.99 in the US and will include “Character Sheet Quick Access”, “Dice Pack 1” and the entitlement required to use imported images for characters and module icons. As a thank you to those of you who have supported us from the beginning, anyone who owns Character Sheet Quick Access or Dice Pack 1 when 1.1.1 goes live will automatically be entitled to the Advanced Editor. Since each of these items cost $1.99 and the new item costs $3.99, now is a great time to buy!
Please note: if you bought individual dice colors instead of the bundle, then you will continue to have those colors but you will not have all of the features of the Advanced Editor.
Stay with us! Legend of Us software is getting better and better!
